Have you checked your blood pressure lately?

Many too often I see people who do not even know they have high blood pressure developing hypertensive crisis or worse still stroke! It is very important that we check our blood pressure regularly because most of our diet have too much sodium content that greatly contributes to the risk of developing high blood pressure coupled with most of us living a sedentary lifestyle with little or no any form of physical activities. Age and hereditary are some of the nonmodifiable risk factors so as we go up in age our risk increase but with control over our diet and living an active life,we can cut down these risks to a significant level.High blood pressure is called the “silent killer” because it often has no warning signs or symptoms, and many people do not know they have it. That’s why it is important to check your blood pressure regularly..It is adviseable to get a home blood pressure monitor and contact your primary care provider as soon as you know your blood pressure is high above the normal parameter.
